  • Hainan Airlines

Hainan Airlines has introduced a connection between Changsha and London Heathrow Terminal 3, providing a non-stop service three times a week. This is the Chinese Airline’s second non-stop flight between Mainland China and the UK.

To support this new service, Hainan Airlines requested a network and broadband connection within their office and a further requirement to extend this connectivity to their ticket desk at departures level. The Commercial Telecoms team designed a network and installed Ethernet ports where required, ensuring all connected devices in the office and ticket desk can communicate with each other and the internet. In addition to this, they also provided Hainan Airlines with a telephony service at both locations and an analogue connection specifically for their ticket desk PDQ.

  • Delta Airlines

Having rolled out a new bag tracking solution across all their major hubs in America, Delta Airlines chose Heathrow to be the first airport outside of America to include into their project.

As a part of this wider Delta Airlines’ project to improve bag tracking, the Airlines have rolled out RFID scanners to their ground handlers, Cobalt at Heathrow. For the scanners to be functional, Commercial Telecoms (CT) have installed dual power sockets to charge the RFID scanners within their docking station and ethernet connections to the nearest Delta Airlines’ switch. CT have also provided the physical configurations at Cobalt’s ramp office in Gate 316 at T3.
