Openreach orders in Terminal 2 and 5

Published: 26/09/2018  General

We wrote to you in August this year to notify you about changes to the installation fee for Openreach patching orders within Terminal 2 and Terminal 5.
Historically, within these two terminals Openreach has subsidised Heathrow Commercial Telecoms on the installation fees for patching orders (where an outlet already exists). However, since the 1st of September 2018, Openreach no longer subsidise these installation fees.

What are the implications of the change?

1. Only applicable to Openreach orders within Terminal 2 and Terminal 5.
2. Existing connections and orders requested before 1st September 2018 will have no impact from this change.
3. For new patching requirements, Heathrow Commercial Telecoms will provide a quote for a one-off installation fee on customers’ requests.
4. Applicable charges for patching orders from the 1st of September 2018:
  • Installation fee: £802+VAT (one-off, no monthly recurring)
    • where an outlet is already present in the customer location and no further cabling is required
  • The fee covers
    • patching from the Openreach end-point to the existing customer outlet
    • maintenance and servicing of cabling
  • If additional cabling is required, Heathrow Commercial Telecoms will provide a customised quote.
5. You should continue to contact Openreach directly if you require a solution from them.
