Heathrow has made a significant investment in both the telecommunications and IT services infrastructure across the airport. When using Heathrow telecommunications services, businesses become easily connected within the airport. Services can be replicated in any location across Heathrow, reducing the risk and cost associated with a business move. This is known as the Heathrow Common Infrastructure Policy.

The concept of Common Infrastructure has been developed at Heathrow with careful planning over a number of years; with the aim for technology convergence and is driven by common business requirements to minimise complexities, maximise flexibility and create efficiencies.

Heathrow Commercial Telecoms offer a true end-to-end telecommunications service including Broadband and co-location services in our communications rooms. The option of a single source supplier, such as Heathrow Commercial Telecoms, can have the benefit of reducing complexity, cost and risk to our customers.

Heathrow has undergone a major change in delivery of voice, data and video solutions, along with service management improvements. A major IT outsource contract was signed with Capgemini and covers the full scope of B2B services offered by Heathrow which are delivered by a consortium of specialist suppliers. SITA delivers the IT and telecommunication services on behalf of Heathrow

This price book is applicable to services within Heathrow airport that are available through Common Infrastructure. Common Infrastructure is the term applied when service providers or users of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) share the systems used to distribute electronic communication signals and services in the terminal or around the airport. The concept of common infrastructure has been developed at Heathrow (other airports and similarly complex environments) over a number of years. It is enabled by technology convergence and driven by common requirements with the aim of reducing costs, minimising complexities and maximising flexibility.

This price book is also subject to the client being in contract with Heathrow for services provided; for which a contract constitutes a minimum period of 6 months.
