Heathrow's network certified by FriendlyWiFi

Published: 17/02/2020  General

This month marks the start of Heathrow’s certified “Friendly WiFi” across terminals – reassuring parents and guardians that Heathrow’s super-fast free WiFi network will filter out inappropriate content, and be safe for children to use. This certification has been carried out by FriendlyWiFi – the government initiated standard which ensures public WiFi meets minimum filtering standards, particularly in areas where children are present. The Friendly WiFi symbol was created and launched in partnership with the The UK Council for Child Internet Safety (UKCCIS)

Heathrow’s Chief Commercial Officer Ross Baker said:

“Our ambition is to provide the world’s best airport service for all our passengers – no matter their age. We are delighted to welcome back our popular Mr. Men characters, family services and offers. As a parent myself, I am especially pleased that we now offer certified “Friendly WiFI” which will keep our youngest passengers safe online, and give parents the reassurance and peace of mind they deserve in their travels through the airport.”
