Heathrow Airport Terminal 4 Reopening on 24 June

Published: 29/04/2022  General

Following the announcement last month, Heathrow Airport will reopen Terminal 4 on 24 June to cope with an expected surge in passenger traffic over the summer peak season.

Delivering a safe and secure ramp-up, the remobilisation of Terminal 4 will be gradual, with Qatar Airways returning to its home terminal first. Several other Terminal 4 carriers will join them in the following days and weeks, including Etihad, Air Malta and El Al.

Heathrow shut Terminals 4 in May 2020 as international travel collapsed amid Covid lockdowns worldwide. Currently, only Heathrow Terminals 2, 3 and 5 serve passengers. The reopening of Terminal 4 will bring back millions of passengers and thousands of staff members.

Over the coming months, we will be working with Heathrow to prepare for the total return of Terminal 4. We will be supporting customers with a comprehensive familiarisation, induction, communications technology, infrastructure and 'road-testing' the Terminal's processes and systems to ensure they are ready for summer.

The next few weeks and months will be challenging for the operation, colleagues and partners as we welcome back the same passenger levels as of March 2020. Since then, a lot has changed for us all. We have all been waiting for this exciting milestone. By working together safely, we all play a part in helping passengers rediscover the joy of travel and experience the adventures after the last two years.

If your business is planning on returning to Heathrow Terminal 4 for reopening, we would like to remind you to test your IT equipment as soon as feasibly possible in readiness for 24 June. Should you identify any IT faults or have issues within your business and require assistance with any network connections, including firewalls, broadband, MLAN, WLAN, or IP Telephone, please do not hesitate to call the Heathrow IT services desk at +44 (0)208 976 5665 where you can provide the detail and will be provided with an incident number, please share this with ourselves via the commercial telecoms email address Heathrow@sita.aero so we can assist.

Thank you to everyone who has been working with us to this point. Commercial Telecoms will continue supporting you in this optimistic summer at the airport.
